Itโ€™s good to see our growing community is composed both of experienced investors and those who are just beginning their investment adventure.

So, a question to our experienced investors!

If you were to give one important tip to our community starter investors, what would it be?

Being an investor for some years with a reasonable understanding and background of the financial markets, I would suggest:

  • Donโ€™t make your due diligence based on books/videos of โ€œindustry expertsโ€, everyone should make their own strategy, according to the investor profile that better suits you.

  • Choose a sector or a market and research every single detail about that market, whether itโ€™s the beverage industry or the media or the energy. Just focus on one and get the most out of it. Meaning that you donโ€™t need to overload your brain with too much information, it wonโ€™t be efficient.

  • Only invest what you are willing to lose, there are a lot of unknown factors, management factors, micro, and macro factors. Donโ€™t over-position yourself, nor do you need to over-diversify.

There would certainly be a list for multiple mistakes to avoid for beginner investors but letโ€™s start with these three.
